Key challenges of medical records
We have embraced many new technologies into healthcare industry so far. Data happens to be the heart of any digital transformation and one of the basic aspects of medical data is Doctor’s prescription. Unfortunately, prescription is still gets scanned to make a digital copy and technical challenge of handling a picture format, or PDF remains. If the drugs and tests need to be digitized as a data-field and make a complete digital Patient Record Management – there are manual processes still is required to handle multiple records at different origination point. If a doctor prescribes a test, there is no instant data flow to the path-lab. Similar way, the test results remain a piece of paper unless patient gets the doctor’s appointment to consult the test result. Additionally, there is a change management problem with the doctors also. They also happen to be reluctant to use digital devices to generate the data while consulting. In the government hospital outdoor counter (OPD) there is massive number of patients footfall also happen. So handling any new process is also challenging for doctors at that environment. So, summarize the challenges this appears as …
- Doctor prescription is handwritten.
- Scanned prescription is only available in picture / PDF format, which is very difficult to use as a digital record.
- There is no data flow instantly from prescription generation to the Path-Lab or any other relevant departments.
- Change management is an issue with the doctors for device adoption.
The solution we are bringing on the table:
We are proposing a fully integrated software application, which manages the data generation at the prescription level, and manage data flow between all relevant stakeholders. The important functional points of this application are …
- Prescription management – this module allows the Bluetooth data flow in the backend software system to capture the data fields such as KYC of patient, drugs, tests and repeat consultation data. This is connected to a hardware Bluetooth device as shown in the illustration in earlier page.
- Medicine order management – this module handles the ordering procedure automatically if the medicine stock goes down. With the flow of prescribing medicines, this is an AI-based application, which keeps tab of the frequently used medicines and manages the supply chain of them.
- Appointment management – same integrated application also extends a mobile based application for the patients to book a doctor’s appointment, if your healthcare establishment wants to use it. If you already have any Hospital Management Information System (HMIS), we can integrate our data generation to your main HMIS.
- Path-Lab management – Automatically a data flow goes to the path lab, if any test is given by the doctor in the prescription. Similar way, test results are captured in the digital field and shared with the doctors for their relevant patients.
